Privacy
In short: Aloria collects no data. No Aloria account, no analytics, no ads.
What stays on your PC
Your Microsoft accounts (sign-in tokens), profiles, settings, worlds and mods are only stored on your computer,
in %APPDATA%\.aloria and %APPDATA%\Aloria (on Linux: ~/.config/.aloria and
~/.config/Aloria). Sign-in tokens are encrypted with Windows data protection (DPAPI), or the system keyring
on Linux when there is one. Aloria only sends them to the official services listed below.
The services Aloria contacts
Aloria only talks to these services, and only for what you need:
- Microsoft, Xbox Live and Mojang: signing in to your account when you sign in, checking that you own Minecraft, and the official download of the game and Java when you start a profile. Microsoft privacy statement.
- Fabric (meta.fabricmc.net), Forge (maven.minecraftforge.net) and NeoForge (maven.neoforged.net): downloading the mod loader for the profiles that use it.
- Modrinth: searching and downloading the mods, resource packs, shaders and modpacks you choose. Modrinth privacy policy.
- GitHub: at startup, Aloria checks whether there is a new version and downloads it. No personal data is sent, only the download request. GitHub privacy statement.
- Discord: if Discord is open on your PC, Aloria shows your game status (profile, version, server, as you choose). This goes through Discord on your computer; you can turn it off in Aloria's Settings. Discord privacy policy.
This program will not transfer any information to other networked systems unless specifically requested by the user or the person installing or operating it, except for the automatic update check described above.
Uninstalling
Uninstall Aloria from Windows (Settings → Apps). Your worlds and settings are kept in
%APPDATA%\.aloria: delete this folder to erase everything. On Linux, delete the AppImage (or
sudo apt remove aloria for the .deb), then ~/.config/.aloria to erase everything.
